About Course
Revit for Beginners is a 5-week introduction to Building Information Modeling for architects, engineers, and drafters who are new to Revit and BIM workflows. The course starts with BIM and Revit fundamentals, helping you understand how Revit’s model-based approach differs from traditional 2D drafting and how to navigate the interface with confidence. You will then move into modeling core building elements such as walls, floors, roofs, and ceilings, building up a simple structure from the ground up. Families and components are covered in detail, including how to use standard component families and how to build your own custom families when the library does not have what you need. The course also covers setting up views and producing clear, well-annotated documentation, followed by sheet setup, title blocks, and printing so you can package a finished set of drawings for a client or contractor. By the end of the course, you will be comfortable building a basic architectural or engineering model in Revit and producing a coordinated set of construction documents from it, entirely through online, self-paced learning.
